Other trees were eliminated due to susceptibility to salt, lack of longevity, lack of drought resistance and need for shade. Coniferous trees are not permitted in parkways except for parkways which face the rear lots and no driveways or overhead lines exist. Allowed species include Austrian pine, blue spruce, Norway spruce, and others as deemed appropriate by Village Administrator, DPW, and certified arborist. These trees must be spaced at least ten feet (10') from the sidewalk and kept trimmed by the adjacent homeowner to avoid blocking pedestrian passage on the sidewalk.
