6-5D-1: DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS:
   A.   Prohibited; Exemptions: It shall be unlawful to discharge any firearm within the municipal limits of the village; provided, however, that this section shall not be construed to prohibit any officer of the law from discharging a firearm within the village in the performance of his duty, nor to any citizen from discharging a firearm within the village when lawfully defending his person or property, nor to any owner or occupant of uninhabited farmland located within the village having an area of eighty (80) acres or more from discharging a firearm on said uninhabited land.    B.   Definitions: For the purposes of this section, the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection:
    FIREARM: Any weapon from which a missile, such as a bullet, is hurled with an explosive and shall include any air gun, BB gun, pellet gun or missile gun.
   UNINHABITED: Not inhabited by more than one family consisting of the owner or occupant of the land. (1983 Code § 8-5-4)
