903.07 SIDEWALK SPECIFICATIONS; INSPECTIONS.
All sidewalks shall be constructed in accordance with specifications on file in the Department of Public Service.
All materials furnished shall be the best of their respective kinds and all the work required shall be done in a good and workmanlike manner to the satisfaction of the Director of Public Service.
All work and material shall be at all times open to the inspection, disapproval or rejection of the Director; but such inspection shall not relieve or release the owner from any of his obligations, nor shall the Director's neglect to disapprove or reject any work or material be construed as an approval of any defective work or material.
If at any time before the final acceptance of the work by the Director, any inferior material or work shall be discovered, such material and work shall be removed by the contractor or owner immediately upon notice being given to do so and replaced to the satisfaction of the Director. Any work condemned by the Director as defective or improperly done, shall be removed and repaired or otherwise remedied, as the Director may direct.
Should the weather at any time be unusually wet, or so cold and frosty that all or any part of the work, in the opinion of the Director, cannot be done in a proper manner, then the Director may order such part of the work suspended until a more suitable season, and the contractor shall cover or otherwise substantially protect the several parts of the work, so that the same will not be injured by weather or by any other cause.
All work shall be constructed in strict accordance with the instructions and lines and grades as given by the Director. The contractor shall protect all reference points and stakes. (Ord. 1957-65. Passed 5-27-57.)
