A. Adoption: A certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the Office of the Building Department, being marked and designated as the City of Mesquite amendments to the 1997 Uniform Administrative Code, as provided by the City, is hereby adopted as amendments to the Administrative Code of the City for regulating and governing the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Administrative Code on file in the Office of the Building Department are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this section, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in subsection B of this section.
B. Amendments: The following sections are hereby revised:
Section 103 - Building Code shall be amended to read:
is the international building code and international residential code promulgated by the International Code Council, as adopted by this jurisdiction.
Section 302.3.1 will be added to say:
All plans will have two (2) copies of the soils report submitted with the plans. All lots will have a minimum of two (2) test pits for soil testing. Test pits must be to a depth at least 10 feet below the bottom of building footing. A pad certification from a Nevada registered civil engineer that states that the building pad is adequate to meet the structural needs of the structure to be built. A plan showing how all slopes located on the lot or parcel will be stabilized is required with the building permit submittal. All slopes must be built to a 3 to 1 slope or greater.
Section 306.1.1, Exception 1 shall be amended to read:
Concrete for foundations conforming to the minimum requirements of chapter 19 of the building code or for group R, division 3 or group U, division 1 occupancies, provided the building official finds that a special hazard does not exist.
Section 306.1.5.2 shall be amended to read:
In addition to section 306.5.1 requirements, nondestructive testing as required by chapter 17 of the building code.
Section 306.1.6 shall be amended to read:
As required by chapter 22 of the building code.
Section 306.1.12 shall be amended to read:
During the taking of test specimens and placing of all shotcrete and as required by chapter 19 of the building code.
Section 306.1.13 shall be amended to read:
During earthwork excavations, grading and filling operations inspection to satisfy requirements of appendix J of the building code.
