Each house or building number shall be displayed upon the front wall or other conspicuous location, in front of each house or building or part thereof assigned a number. The number shall be visible to traffic approaching in all directions.
Wherever possible, individual numbers shall be assigned to individual main entrances of multi-tenant residential, commercial and industrial buildings. When such main entrances are located at the side or rear of a building and are not visible from the street frontage, the numbers shall be clearly displayed on or near each such main entrance. All numbers assigned to such building, units and main entrances therein shall also be displayed on the front wall of the building or other conspicuous location facing the street.
Each such number mounted on the front, side or rear wall of such building shall be located at a distance of not less than four (4) feet, nor more than ten (10) feet above the ground level immediately adjacent to said wall. Numbers displayed shall be placed in a manner visible from the street where they will not be hidden by parked vehicles, trees, landscaping, snow or other obstructions.
The minimum number size on houses, structures or buildings less than sixty-one feet (61') from the road right-of-way shall be four (4) inches. The minimum number size on houses, structures or buildings located between sixty-one feet (61') to one hundred feet (100') from the road right-of-way shall be six (6) inches. The minimum building number size on houses, structures or buildings greater than one hundred feet (100') from the road right-of-way shall be ten (10) inches. The assigned number shall be displayed with numerals as prescribed by this chapter.
