Adequate public water service shall be provided for all lots in conformance with the following criteria:
(a) All water mains shall be of material meeting all applicable specifications of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), specifically Class 15OPSI asbestos cement pipe or minimum Class 52 ductile iron pipe or equivalent.
(b) All water mains and appurtenances shall be constructed in accordance with the rules, standards, and specifications of the City of Mentor and Aqua Ohio, Inc. and shall be reviewed, tested, and approved by Aqua Ohio, Inc. prior to acceptance by the City.
(c) Service connections shall be provided for each lot. At intersections and at cul-de sac turnarounds the service connections shall be installed at the time the water main is installed.
(d) In general, the spacing of fire hydrants shall be 500 feet in residential areas and 300 feet in commercial and/or industrial areas; however, the actual locations shall be as determined by the City Engineer and Fire Chief to ensure public safety.
(e) Evidence that the construction plans of the water supply system have been reviewed and approved by Aqua Ohio, Inc. and the Lake County Sanitary Engineer shall be submitted to the Department of Planning and Development prior to approval of the final plat.
