There shall be no primary election for municipal offices. Nominations for elective offices of the municipality shall be made by statement of candidacy only, signed by the candidate and by not less than 25 qualified electors on the standard forms for the nomination of non-partisan candidates for such office, filed with the Board of Elections at least 90 days before the day of the election. Each candidate shall file a separate statement of candidacy; group statements of candidacy shall not be used. The statement of candidacy may be in a number of parts, but each part shall be verified under oath by the circulator as required by law.
