(a) It shall be the duty of the Department of Police to enforce the provisions of the Water Traffic Code, The Chief of Police shall assign such officers and members of the Department of Police as the Chief may determine necessary, who shall be charged with the specific duty of enforcing the provisions of this chapter and the rules and regulations adopted by the Chief of the Division of Watercraft and Chapter 1547 of the Ohio Revised Code. In the exercise thereof, such officers or members of the Department of Police have the authority to stop and board any watercraft subject to the provisions of this chapter and Chapter 1547 of the Ohio Revised Code.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse to comply with any lawful order, signal or direction of any member of the department of police in connection with the operation of watercraft in the waters of the City of Mentor.
