(a) On any form required by State or Federal law or local ordinance to be completed for the transfer of ownership of any firearm or dangerous ordnance, or in any legally required procedure requiring the recording of information regarding the sale, purchase or transfer of firearms, ammunition components or dangerous ordnance, no person shall knowingly supply, furnish or record any information knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such information is false.
(b) Violation of this section is a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. If the false information is such that it would purport that an individual who is in fact prohibited by local, State or Federal law from acquiring such items, is not under such restriction, the court shall impose a sentence of actual incarceration of not less than three days or more than thirty days.
