GENERAL PROVISIONS
(A) This chapter shall apply only to all present full-time Firefighters or full-time Police Officers of the city, including any paid full-time Police or Fire Chief, and future appointees to such full-time positions.
(B) For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTERS. Duly appointed Firefighters who are paid regularly by the city and for whom firefighting is a full-time career, but shall not include clerical, custodial, or maintenance personnel who are not engaged in fire suppression.
FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICERS. Police officers in positions which require certification by the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center, who have the power of arrest, who are paid regularly by the city, and for whom law enforcement is a full-time career, but shall not include clerical, custodial, or maintenance personnel.
