§ 1301.07 SECURING OF VACANT BUILDINGS.
   (a)   Unoccupied and vacant buildings that are normally enclosed shall not be accessible to the public. When openings are not maintained substantially weathertight or cannot prevent unauthorized entry, the buildings shall be secured by the following means, or the equivalent as approved by the Building Official.
   (b)   The effective boarding of a building shall include, but not be limited to, doors, windows or other areas open to ingress and egress and to weather elements. The openings shall be secured by exterior grade plywood, not less than one-half inch in nominal thickness, or other material of equal strength, cut and fit into the openings. Openings in excess of 48 inches wide shall be framed with nominal two- by four-inch lumber and plywood, or equivalent material fastened 24 inches on center onto the frame. The plywood or equivalent material shall be fastened into the openings by screws or lags and painted to match the exterior color scheme.
