(a) Any person desiring a precious metal and gem dealer’s license shall make application to the Chief of Police setting forth the applicant’s name, Social Security number, birth date, owner(s) of the business, location of place of business, whether or not the applicant is a citizen of the United States, whether previously engaged in the business and where and when engaged in the business.
(b) The application for a precious metal and gem dealer’s license shall be filed with the Chief of Police 14 days prior to the desired date of issuance of the license.
(c) If all the information given on the application for the license is complete and accurate, the Chief of Police shall issue a precious metal and gem dealer’s license within 14 days from the date of application, unless the applicant has been convicted of any crime involving theft, dishonesty or false statement and the conviction has not been expunged.
(d) The precious metal and gem dealer’s license shall not be transferable and shall expire 12 months after the date the license was issued.
(e) The annual precious metal and gem dealer’s license fee shall be as established and set forth in the fee schedule in Part One - Title Eleven, Chapter 205 of these codified ordinances. The amount of the fee shall be as set by ordinance from time to time.
(f) The precious metal and gem dealer’s license shall be displayed in a conspicuous place in the place of business.
