§ 167.03 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
   The Environmental Advisory Commission shall act as an advisory body to the City Manager and Council and shall:
   (a)   Establish three subcommittees to address the following issues:
      (1)   Mandated waste reduction and recycling;
      (2)   Increased awareness of the environment through educational efforts; and
      (3)   Active conservation and preservation of our land and waters.
   (b)   Three members of the Commission shall serve on each of the three subcommittees, one of whom shall act as the Chairperson of the subcommittee and all of whom shall act as liaisons to the Commission in regard to the issues of that subcommittee;
   (c)   Meet at least bimonthly;
   (d)   Review air, land and water quality issues and recommend action, if appropriate, to Council;
   (e)   Review solid and hazardous waste management issues, including economical disposal options;
   (f)   Assist the City Planning Commission or Council, upon request, in conducting environmental quality analysis for selected zoning issues;
   (g)   Coordinate with appropriate federal, state and county agencies to address environmental quality issues of mutual concern and to seek evaluation of the progress of the Commission’s work in cooperation with the City Manager and Council; and
   (h)   Perform other duties assigned by Council or requested by the City Manager.
