2-8-1: BOARD MEMBERSHIP; SUPERVISION; DUTIES:

   A.   Membership: The city council shall constitute a municipal board of health and shall be capable of performing all the functions provided by state law.

   B.   Supervision: The municipal board of health shall be under the supervision of the Stephens County department of health and the Oklahoma state department of health.

   C.   General Duties: It shall be the general duty of the municipal board of health to examine and consider all measures necessary for the preservation of the public health of residents of the city, and to see that all ordinances and regulations in relation thereto are observed. 2-8-2: HEALTH OFFICER:

The municipal board of health may appoint a local health officer to carry out its health programs and policies. The county health officer or his authorized representative may perform the duties of a local health officer. (1985 Code § 1-49)

2-8-3: COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT:

The cooperative health department of Stephens County, and its director, shall have the powers of a local health department and local health officer respectively for the city. References to health department and health officer or director of the health department in this code and in other ordinances of the city shall mean the cooperative health department and its director, unless the context clearly indicates another meaning.
