6.04.250: UNLAWFUL DETENTION OF ANIMALS:
It shall be unlawful for any person other than the poundkeeper, to take up an animal under the provisions of this chapter, and retain it more than eighteen (18) hours. (1986 Code)
6.04.260: PAYMENTS TO TREASURER:
It shall be the duty of the poundkeeper to turn into the treasury on or before the fifth day of each month all net proceeds of money received by him by virtue of his office, during the preceding month. (1986 Code)
6.04.270: SERVICE OF STALLIONS:
Every person who shall openly or in public view let to service any jack, stallion, bull or other animal or who shall indecently exhibit any of said animals, is guilty of a misdemeanor. (1986 Code)
6.04.280: FEEDING WILD ANIMALS:
It shall be unlawful for any person to feed or bait wild animals within the city limits unless authorized as part of the city's urban deer control plan. (Ord. 2016-02, 5-18-2016. eff. 6-16-2016)
6.04.290: SLAUGHTER OF ANIMALS:
The slaughter of any animal within Mapleton City is prohibited, except:
   A.   In the case of animals listed under the definition of "animal unit" in section 18.08.010 of this code for personal consumption on a lot or parcel zoned for animal rights as identified in Title 18 of this code;
   B.   In the case of sick or injured livestock on a lot or parcel zoned for animal rights as identified in Title 18 of this code;
   C.   In the case of an animal killed on a lot or parcel with a legal permit from an appropriate state agency to take wild animals that are causing damage to agriculture or greenbelt property; or
   D.   In the case of chickens on properties without animal rights in accordance with section 18.84.240.A.6 of this code.
   E.   The slaughter of any animal under this section shall occur in an enclosed building or in a location that is at least one hundred (100) feet from a neighboring residential structure and/or public right-of-way.
   F.   The slaughter of any animals allowed under this section shall comply with the cleanliness standard adopted in section 8.04.100 of this code. (Ord. 2020-06, 7-15-2020)
