§ 53.001 PURPOSE AND INTENT.
   (A)   Purpose. The purpose of this chapter is to regulate the use and construction of public and private sanitary sewers within the jurisdiction of the village in order to comply with applicable federal and state standards, and to protect the public health, safety and welfare. The construction, maintenance and repair of all sewage disposal systems, sanitary sewers and sanitary sewer service lines including the connection to all sanitary sewers within the village shall be under the direction of and subject to the approval of the village whether constructed or maintained by the village or by private firms, individuals or utilities.
   (B)   Intent. The intent of this chapter is to provide reasonable standards and procedures for the uniform construction and use of sanitary sewers within the jurisdiction of the village.
   (C)   Separate system. The sewer systems of the village shall consist of a storm water drain system and a separate sanitary sewer collection system. The two systems shall not be interconnected, but shall remain separate at all times.
