GENERAL PROVISIONS
(A) The position of Fire Chief is hereby established.
(B) Appointment to the position of Fire Chief shall be made by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council.
(C) The Fire Chief shall be second in command to the Mayor of the Fire Department.
(D) The Fire Chief shall attend all sessions of the City Council, unless excused by the Mayor.

The Mayor, in consultation with the Fire Chief and other members of the Fire Department, shall propose rules and regulations that are deemed necessary for the operation of the Fire Department which shall be subject to approval by City Council.

(A) The Fire Department shall be composed of both volunteers and employees of the city, all of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor.
(B) To be eligible to be appointed a member of the Fire Department, a person must be a citizen of the Commonwealth and at least 18 years of age. Such other qualifications to be a member of the Fire Department shall be as established by Kentucky law or by such other rules and regulations proposed by the Mayor and approved by Council.

(A) The City Clerk-Treasurer shall be the city officer responsible for the care and safekeeping of all records regarding the Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services Fund.
(B) The proceeds of said Fund shall be kept apart from all other funds of the city and accounted for separately.
(C) Said Fund shall be utilized to operate the City of Ludlow Fire Department, to provide fire protection and emergency medical services (including personnel), to purchase, maintain and repair vehicles and other equipment necessary to provide fire protection and emergency medical services.
