702.02 LOCATION.
   (a)   Firing ranges shall not be located nearer than 2,000 feet from a dwelling or any other building regularly occupied by persons.
   (b)   Firing ranges which are now in existence and which do not comply with the foregoing distance limitation shall be relocated to comply therewith or shall cause to operate within a period of seven months from the effective date of this chapter.

702.03 SAFETY STANDARDS.
   All firing ranges shall be operated and equipped in full compliance with the safety standards of the National Skeet Shooting Association, the Amateur Trap Shooting Association or the National Rifle Association and with the safety standards set forth in this chapter.

702.04 NOISE STANDARDS.
   All firing ranges shall be operated in compliance with acceptable noise or sound levels as established in the National Rifle Association Range Manual, Section 1, Chapter 6, Article 3.034, Sub-Section 3.034.1, Copyrighted 1988, and entitled “Sound Abatement”.

702.05 HOURS OF OPERATION.
   No firing at a firing range shall take place before 10:00 a.m., or later than one-half hour before sunset. Firing on Sundays and holidays is prohibited.

702.06 INSURANCE.
   Any individual or entity having control over the property wherein a firing range is operated shall provide liability insurance to insure the gun clubs, their members and all persons using the range against claims for damages to persons or property in an amount not less than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) for each accident.

702.07 ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.
   The use of alcoholic beverages prior to or during the firing of firearms at a firing range shall be prohibited. (Ord. 3015. Passed 8-18-99.)
702.08 MINORS.
   No person under the age of sixteen years of age shall use firearms at a firing range unless under the direct supervision of a parent or qualified instructor.

702.09 IDENTIFICATION.
   Each gun club shall be responsible for providing gun club members and its guests and all other individuals using the firing range with proper identification which shall be exhibited to proper authorities upon request.

702.10 PERMIT; FEE.
   The Chief of the Police Department of the Village shall issue to the owner or operator of the presently existing firing ranges, whose ranges comply with the safety standards of the National Skeet Shooting Association, the Amateur Trap Shooting Association, and the National Rifle Association and with the safety standards set forth in this chapter, a permit to operate ranges. Permits shall be automatically renewable at the end of each calendar year and the charge for each such permit shall be one dollar ($1.00). The Chief of Police may revoke the permit at any time if he finds that the firing range is being operated contrary to the provisions of this chapter and the safety standards hereinbefore set forth.
