A. The museum board shall consist of eleven members: the mayor and the president of the Lovington Women's Club or the club's appointed representive, and nine other members whose terms of office shall be for five years, except that the initial term of the eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh members shall be for a term of one, two, three, four years, respectively, to be determined by lottery.
B. Each member of the board shall remain in office until a successor is appointed and qualified. The mayor shall appoint successors to the board upon expiration of the subject terms and shall appoint persons to fill vacancies for unexpired terms resulting through resignation or from other causes, subject to the approval of the city commission.
C. The terms of the directors of the board shall expire on the first day of February, as their respective appointments terminate. (Ord. 328, 1984: Ord. 315 § 2, 1982)
