15.08.040   Permits not required when.
   A.   No permit shall be required for minor repair work such as repairing flush and snap switches, replacing fuses, changing lamp sockets and receptacles and repairing drop cords or minor repairs to devices which will not necessitate the disconnecting of soldered joints in wiring, devices or equipment.
   B.   No permit shall be required for the installation of electric wiring, devices or equipment installed for or by a public utility corporation operating under a franchise from the city or under state or federal law, to transmit and sell electrical energy. Such wiring devices or equipment must be for the use of such corporation in its operation as a public utility as provided for in its franchise. If the electric public utility engages in the business of installing wiring for other than their own use, such utility shall be required to take out a master electrician's license and be governed by the provisions of this chapter governing master electricians and journeyman electricians.
   C.   No permit shall be required for installing any portable appliances or devices that are approved by the National Electrical ("ode for operation from socket or convenience outlet if not over one thousand watts. (Prior code §§ 16-1-4—16-1-6)
