This chapter shall be enforced by the health officer in accordance with the interpretations thereof contained in the current edition of the U. S. Public Health Service Code Regulating Eating and Drinking Establishments, a certified copy of which shall be on file at the city clerk's office; provided, however, that should any provision, item, or part thereof fail to meet the minimum requirements of state law, the requirements of the state law shall apply to that provision, item or part thereof so affected.
