A. The department head shall prepare the request for the position. The vacancy shall be posted in the city for seven calendar days and advertised in the local newspaper at least once. The city manager or his designee is responsible for posting and advertising.
B. Exceptions to Posting. Posting is waived, with the approval of the city manager, when an applicant is authorized to perform the duties of a position on a temporary basis. (Ord. 435 §§ 4.1,4.2, 2001)
