Sec. 1.15. Corporate Seal of City.
 
   That the seal to be hereafter used and known as the corporate seal of the City of Los Angeles shall consist of an impression from a circular die having countersunk thereon the following device: In the center thereof a quartered shield bearing on its upper right-hand quarter the stars and stripes arranged with thirteen stars upon a field extending horizontally and thirteen stripes vertically below the same; on its upper-hand quarter a five-cornered star and a grizzly bear with a single horizontal stripe beneath; on its lower right-hand quarter a golden eagle of the kind depicted on the nineteenth century Mexican Coat of Arms, standing on a cactus plant and holding in its beak a rattlesnake; on its lower left hand quarter side by side a castle and a lion rampant; above the shield a bunch of grapes; on its right an olive branch and on its left a cluster of oranges. The die shall also provide for said seal to have around its outer rim enclosed within a beaded border the words “City of Los Angeles, Founded 1781.”
 
   That the color and design of the aforesaid impression shall conform to the color and design of the seal attached hereto and incorporated herein as follows:

   That an exact copy of the above shall be maintained in the office of the City Clerk as a reference for the citizens of the City of Los Angeles.
 
   That the seal described in this section is hereby adopted as the corporate seal of the City of Los Angeles.
