§ 72.01 DEFINITIONS.
   The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning.
   ELECTRICALLY POWERED VEHICLE. Any motor vehicle used in the transportation of persons or property on the streets of the city, the propulsion of which is derived primarily from the use of electricity. ELECTRIC GOLF CARS fall within this definition.
   LOW-SPEED VEHICLES. Any vehicle that due to mechanical design or mechanical governing by implement or device installed thereon which prevents the speed of such vehicle from exceeding 25 miles per hour. COMBUSTION ENGINE GOLF CARS fall within this definition.

§ 72.02 SCOOTERS AND MOPEDS EXCLUDED.
   Scooters and mopeds are currently regulated on all roads and highways by North Carolina law. They will not be expressly addressed within this chapter.
