REPORTING A HAZARD OR VIOLATION
(A) A hazard or violation pursuant to this chapter may be reported at any time.
(B) During normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m), a report of a hazard or violation may be made to the Fire Marshal's office by contacting 704-736-8516.
(C) After the normal business hours of the Fire Marshal's office (or during a county holiday), a report of a hazard or violation may be made to the County Communications Center by contacting its non-emergency line at 704-736-0282.
(D) A report of an active fire or emergency should be made by dialing 911.

Any complaint of a hazard or violation under this chapter is required to contain the following information for the complaint to be processed:
(A) The name of the person filing the complaint;
(B) The address and telephone number of the person filing the complaint;
(C) The location of the hazard or violation; and
(D) The type of problem, hazard, or violation.

The penalties for violations of this chapter and the State Building Code will be as follows.

Third and any subsequent offenses (per each day that a violation continues) | $200 |
