§ 95.147 ONCE EVERY TWO YEARS.
   (A)   The following facilities and buildings are subject to inspections, at a minimum, at least once every two years.
   (B)   Educational above the twelfth grade (every two years); and
   (C)   Industrial occupancy: assembly plant, factory, furniture/woodworking, manufacturing facility, processing plant, textile, and fabrication facility.

§ 95.148 ONCE EVERY THREE YEARS.
   (A)   The following facilities and buildings are subject to inspections, at a minimum, at least one every three years.
   (B)   Assembly occupancy: church and synagogues;
   (C)   Business occupancy: automobile dealerships (no service work), automobile dealerships (with service work) automotive self-service stations (no service work), automotive full-service stations, automotive repair garages, car washes, dry cleaning (not classified as hazardous), florists and nurseries,
greenhouses, laboratories (not classified as hazardous), laundries (full- and self-service), machine shops, print shops, telephone exchanges, offices, radio and television stations;
   (D)   Mercantile occupancy: convenience stores (dispenses flammable/combustible liquids), department stores, drug stores, markets, retail stores, shopping centers, sales rooms, covered malls, super markets/grocery stores, and wholesale stores (other than warehouse). Fireworks provision to be added if the facility sells or stores for sale; and
   (E)   Storage occupancy: aircraft hangers, helistops, private garages, storage warehouse, and wholesale warehouse.

§ 95.149 TO BE FREE OF CHARGE.
   The fire safety inspections are provided free of charge. The only fees that the business will incur are for certain permits when they are required. For all jobs or tasks required by State Building Code, along with State Amendments, and this chapter that require a permit to do a job or task, a civil citation can be issued if the permit is not obtained.

REPORTING A HAZARD OR VIOLATION
§ 95.160 HAZARDS AND VIOLATIONS.
   The Fire Marshal’s office will respond to any complaint regarding a life safety hazard, illegal burning, and any other fire code violation or fire ordinance violation in the county.

§ 95.161 HOW TO REPORT A HAZARD OR VIOLATION.
   (A)   A hazard or violation pursuant to this chapter may be reported at any time.
   (B)   During normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m), a report of a hazard or violation may be made to the Fire Marshal's office by contacting 704-736-8516.
   (C)   After the normal business hours of the Fire Marshal's office (or during a county holiday), a report of a hazard or violation may be made to the County Communications Center by contacting its non-emergency line at 704-736-0282.
   (D)   A report of an active fire or emergency should be made by dialing 911.

§ 95.162 REQUIRED INFORMATION FOR COMPLAINTS.
   Any complaint of a hazard or violation under this chapter is required to contain the following information for the complaint to be processed:
   (A)   The name of the person filing the complaint;
   (B)   The address and telephone number of the person filing the complaint;
   (C)   The location of the hazard or violation; and
   (D)   The type of problem, hazard, or violation.

§ 95.163 RECORDS.
   A written record of all complaints received, and resulting investigations, will be maintained in the Fire Marshal's office. A report will be attached to the complaint, stating any violations or hazards found and what actions were taken.

§ 95.999 PENALTY.
   The penalties for violations of this chapter and the State Building Code will be as follows.
