Sec. 1-8. - Planning commission.
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Planning Commission, created by Resolution Nos. 1793 and 1797 of the City of Lexington and by Resolution of the Fiscal Court of Fayette County, and referred to prior to 1973 as the City-County Planning Commission, shall continue as the Planning Commission for Lexington-Fayette Urban County. There shall be eleven (11) members of the Planning Commission appointed by the Mayor, with approval of the Urban County Council for a term of four (4) years, ending on July 1 of the designated year, with staggered terms so that the terms of two (2) members of the Planning Commission expire each year. However, the members of the Planning Commission in office on the date of passage of the ordinance from which this Article is derived shall remain as members of the Planning Commission and shall serve until the expiration of the term to which they were originally appointed. All members shall be reimbursed for any necessary authorized expenses.
