Any owner or occupant of premises where any nuisance is caused, maintained, or kept in violation of any of the provisions of section 16-34.1, who fails to remove or abate the same after notice as provided in section 12-7, is subject to a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each day the nuisance remains after notice. Each day the nuisance remains after notice shall constitute a separate offense for which the maximum fine may be imposed. The penalty as herein provided is in addition to the civil abatement procedures as set out herein.
