The courts of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government shall consist of a Quarterly Court, a County Court, and three (3) Justices' Courts. The Municipal Court of the City of Lexington shall be terminated thirty (30) days after the effective date of this Charter; and all powers, duties and jurisdictional authority of said Court shall be vested in the Urban County Courts and such other Courts as the laws of Kentucky may now, or hereafter, provide.
Annotation—The provision delaying the termination of the municipal court until thirty days after the effective date of the Charter was held invalid. The effect of this ruling was that the former police court of the City of Lexington was terminated as of the effective date of the Charter on January 1, 1974, rather than thirty days later.
