No person, with intent to sell or in any way dispose of merchandise, securities, service or any other thing, offered directly or indirectly by such person to the public for sale or distribution, or in order to induce the public to acquire an interest therein, or incur any obligation relating thereto, shall make, publish, circulate or otherwise place before the public, or cause to be placed before the public, in a newspaper, or in any other form of publication, or in any pamphlet, handbill, letter or in any other way, any advertisement of any sort regarding such thing so offered to the public which contains a representation or statement which is untrue, deceptive, misleading or fraudulent. The use in any advertisement of any sort of an address other than the address assigned to a property by the urban county government pursuant to sections 17-2 and 17-3 of this Code shall be considered untrue, deceptive, misleading or fraudulent advertising. The use or inclusion in any advertisement of directions to an address when such directions are untrue, deceptive, misleading or fraudulent shall be deemed a violation of this section.
Any person violating this section shall be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00), and each publication shall be deemed a separate offense.
