(a) The commissioner of finance shall collect fees for life support services, whenever transportation is furnished by the emergency medical treatment unit of the division of fire and emergency services, as follows:
(1) Six hundred fifty dollars ($650.00) for basic life support services;
(2) Seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) for advanced life support level 1 emergency; and
(3) Nine hundred dollars ($900.00) for advanced life support level 2.
(b) In addition to the fee collected under subsection (a) of this section, the commissioner of finance shall collect a fee of eleven dollars ($11.00) for each mile of patient transportation furnished by the emergency medical treatment unit of the division of fire and emergency services.
(c) The fees charged pursuant to subsections (a) and (b) of this section shall be adjusted annually each January 1, beginning January 1, 2009, by a percentage equal to the annual adjustment of Medicare's reimbursement rate.
