Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Zoning Code
Sec. 9.02. - The Classified Civil Service.
All positions in the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government shall be in the classified civil service except:
A.   Officers elected by the voters, and persons appointed to fill vacancies in elective offices;
B.   Members of all boards, commissions and authorities established under the provisions of this Charter or by ordinance pursuant thereto;
C.   The Chief Administrative Officer;
D.   Department Commissioners of all executive departments created by this Charter or by ordinance pursuant thereto;
E.   All administrative assistants appointed by the Mayor under the provisions of Section 5.08 of this Charter and all secretaries so excluded by the provisions of said section;
F.   Temporary or part-time employees and all persons employed to conduct special inquiries, investigations or studies for the Merged Government.
