The Department of Housing and Community Development shall be organized into a Division of Housing Services, a Division of Urban Renewal, a Division of Planning, and such other divisions as the Merged Government Council may designate.
The Division of Housing Services shall identify housing problems and deficiencies within the territory of the Merged Government. Except as otherwise provided in Section 7.12 of this Charter, said division shall be responsible for planning, coordinating and administering all activities of the Merged Government related to the work of various public and private agencies concerned with housing problems.
The Division of Urban Renewal shall be responsible for the administration and operation of all urban renewal programs of the Merged Government, including such urban renewal programs as may be funded or otherwise implemented by the City of Lexington or the County of Fayette on the effective date of this Charter.
The Division of Planning shall be responsible for preparing, updating and continuous revision of all community development plans and proposals. Said division shall provide such professional planning and staff services to the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals as may have been provided by the entire professional staff of the Lexington-Fayette County Planning Commission on the effective date of this Charter.
