Sec. 18-160. - Traffic violation bureau—Citation to appear before.
(a)   Except when authorized or directed by the laws of this state to immediately take a person arrested for a violation of any traffic laws before the district court or any court, upon making an arrest for the violation of any of the traffic regulations of the urban county government, the arresting officer shall take the violator's name, address, operator's license number and the registration number of the vehicle involved and shall cite violator to appear before the district court to answer the charge against him within twenty-four (24) hours after being cited, or to comply with the procedures of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Parking Citation Enforcement Hearing Board as set forth in article XII of this chapter, whichever is applicable.
(b)   When any motor vehicle, without driver, is found parked or stropped in violation of any of the restrictions imposed by the traffic regulations of the urban county government, the safety or peace officer or parking control officer finding such vehicle shall take its registration number and may take any other information displayed on the vehicle which may identify its user, and shall conspicuously affix to such vehicle a notice in writing, on a form provided by the urban county government, for the driver to answer to the charge with twenty-four (24) hours and at a place specified in the notice.
