The express purpose of this chapter is to ensure maximum public enjoyment of the parks and other public lands placed under the authority of the park and recreation board. To this end, the rules and regulations contained herein are intended to promote the health, safety, and orderly use of the city parks and lands by the public. (Ord. 1720, 6-2-2008)
The terms of this chapter shall apply to all existing and hereafter acquired parks within or outside the boundaries of the city. It shall also apply to those public lands within or outside the boundaries of the city, owned by the city, and placed under the authority of the park and recreation board by the city commission. The park and recreation board shall have the authority to promulgate or approve rules and regulations for any specific park or public lands placed under its jurisdiction, so long as such rules and regulations are not inconsistent herewith. The park and recreation board shall be responsible for operation of such city parks, however, its authority may be delegated as it deems necessary. (Ord. 1720, 6-2-2008)
