Installation and inspection of smoke detectors shall not be a required responsibility of the Village. Installation is the owner's responsibility and shall be done according to this chapter and the manufacturer's recommendations. The Fire Chief or his authorized inspecting agents for the Village, are hereby granted authority to perform inspections of the housing units described in Section 1321.01, upon giving the owner, manager, or tenant of the housing unit twenty-four hours written notice of the inspection (no prior notice will be required for the Fire Chief or his assistants in cases of fire investigation).
