SCHEDULE I. SPEED LIMITS.
   Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, it shall be unlawful for any person to operate a vehicle in excess of 25 mph.

SCHEDULE II. VEHICLE LENGTH ON SPECIFIED STREETS.
   (A)   The maximum overall length of vehicles (tractor or truck and trailer) shall be restricted as follows:

   (B)   Signs shall be posted at all entrances to the streets.
   (C)   Failure to comply with this schedule shall be a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment not to exceed 30 days and/or a fine not to exceed $500.

SCHEDULE III. THROUGH TRUCKS PROHIBITED.
   (A)   G.S. § 160A-174 states a town may, by ordinance, define, prohibit, regulate or abate acts, omissions, or conditions, detrimental to the health, safety or welfare of its citizens and the peace and dignity of the town.
   (B)   No through truck zones have been established to provide for the general safety and welfare of the residents within the zones, subject to the definitions, designations, exceptions and other provisions of this schedule.
   (C)   (1)   For the purpose of this schedule, the following definitions apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
         TRUCK. A motor vehicle with greater than two axles and/or greater than 26 feet in length with a gross weight of 8,000 pounds or more.
         TRUCK, LIGHT. Any truck less than 26 feet in length and with a gross weight of 8,000 pounds or less, including trucks commonly known as pickup trucks.
      (2)   Terms not defined herein shall be construed in accordance with customary usage.
   (D)   The following roads/streets are designated as no through truck zones:
      (1)   Cedarbrook Drive;
      (2)   Hebron Road from Laurel Park Highway to Laurel Park Highway;
      (3)   Hebron Road and Essowah Drive from Laurel Park Highway to Roberts Drive;
      (4)   Roberts Drive in its entirety;
      (5)   Indian Woods Trail;
      (6)   Westwood Drive;
      (7)   Briarcliff Drive; and
      (8)   Robinson Lane.
   (E)   Exceptions are as follows:
      (1)   Any vehicle making a delivery in a no through truck zone;
      (2)   Service vehicles providing services to residences in a no through truck zone;
      (3)   Public service vehicles;
      (4)   Emergency vehicles; and
      (5)   Truck, light.
   (F)   The Chief of Police shall cause to be erected and maintained at all approaches to the parts of roads/streets on which trucks are prohibited, signs of such dimensions and at such locations as shall be approved by him or her, directing truck traffic in accordance with the provisions of this schedule.
   (G)   Any violation of the provisions of this schedule shall constitute a Class 3 misdemeanor punishable, upon conviction, as provided in G.S. §§ 14-4 and 160A-175. The penalty for such violation shall subject the violator to a fine of not less than $50 and not more than $500, or as amended.
