SCHEDULE I. SPEED LIMITS.

   (A)   On certain state highway system streets. The maximum speed for any vehicle upon the following described portions of certain state highway system streets shall be 35 mph.

   (B)   In vicinity of Corriher-Lipe Junior High School.

      (1)   It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle in excess of 25 mph from 30 minutes before until 30 minutes after school begins and ends at Corriher-Lipe Junior High School on school days only on North Carolina Highway 153 from U.S. Highway 29A northward to South Kimmons Street.

      (2)   Appropriate signs indicating the speed limit shall be placed.

   (C)   In vicinity of Landis School.

      (1)   The maximum speed for any vehicle upon that section of West Rice Street beginning at a point 500 feet west of the western property line of Landis School and extending 400 feet east of the eastern property line of the school shall be 25 mph from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on each day that the school is in session.

      (2)   It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle in excess of 25 mph from 30 minutes before until 30 minutes after school begins and ends at Landis Elementary School on school days only on the following streets.

   (D)   Twenty mph on certain streets.

      (1)   It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle in excess of 20 mph on the following streets or parts of streets.

   (G)   Forty-five mph on certain streets.

      (1) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle in excess of 45 mph on the following streets.

Moriah Church Road (S.R. 1197)	From the northern corporate limit, a point .19 mile south of Flat Rock Road/West Ryder Avenue (S.R. 1210), northward to a point 0.05 mile north of Flat Rock Road/West Ryder Avenue (S.R. 1210); except that, a 25-mile per hour school zone shall be in effect at Landis Elementary School from 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after school begins and ends on school days only
Mt. Moriah Church Road (S.R. 1197)	From a point .20 mile north of North Meriah Street (S.R. 1190) northward to a point .19 mile south of Flat Rock Road/West Ryder Avenue (S.R. 1210)

      (2)   Appropriate signs indicating the speed limits shall be placed.

   (H)   Trucks and other vehicles having over two axles prohibited on certain streets.

      (1)   It shall be unlawful for any truck or other vehicle having over two axles to travel on the following streets or parts of streets.

SCHEDULE II. STOP SIGNS.

   (A)   When stop signs are placed, erected or installed upon streets intersecting a through street designated as provided in §§ 70.01 and 70.02 at the entrance thereto, at the entrance to any intersection or at any stop intersection so designated, every driver of a vehicle shall stop in obedience to the signs before entering the intersection and shall not proceed into or across the intersection until he or she has first determined that it is clear for him or her to do so.

   (B)   Pursuant to the provisions of division (A) of this section, stop signs shall be erected at the following intersections. The signs shall require the driver of any vehicle to stop before entering the intersection. Unless otherwise specifically provided, stop signs shall not be erected on any intersecting street at which a traffic control signal light, flashing caution light or yield right-of-way sign may be placed and maintained.
