§ 75.04 SAFETY EQUIPMENT OF BICYCLE.
   Every bicycle operated upon any street, alley or public way or place shall be in such condition and equipped as follows.
   (A)   Mechanical condition. No person shall operate a bicycle which is not in such mechanical condition so that it can be safely operated.
   (B)   Brakes. Every bicycle shall be equipped with a brake adequate to control the movement of and to stop such bicycle whenever necessary.
   (C)   Lights and reflector. No bicycle shall be operated within the period from sunset to sunrise without having properly lighted headlight attached to the front of the bicycle, visible under normal atmospheric conditions from the front thereof, for a distance of not less than 500 feet, nor without having a red light or reflector attached to the rear of the bicycle which is clearly visible in the headlight beam of a motor vehicle for a distance of not less than 300 feet to the rear of the bicycle.
   (D)   Audible signal. Each bicycle shall be equipped with a horn, bell or other signaling device in good working order and audible at a minimum distance of 100 feet; except that no bicycle shall be equipped with nor shall any person use on a bicycle any siren, gong or whistle.
