No vehicle manufactured after July 31, 1976 may be operated as a Type I school bus in the city unless laminated safety glass is used in its construction wherever glazing materials are used in doors, windows and windshields. The laminated safety glass shall comply with specifications and standards set forth in regulations promulgated by the Department of Transportation and filed with the Secretary of State.
