The keeping of dogs within the limits of the city is hereby forbidden unless the owners, custodians or keepers, or those harboring thereof, shall procure a license for each dog if over six (6) months of age, as herein provided for, except this requirement will not apply to a nonresident keeping a dog within the city for no longer than thirty (30) days. In any prosecution for a violation of this section, the absence of a tag to be appended to a dog, as provided for in section 6.08.050 of this chapter, shall be prima facie evidence that the dog has not been legally licensed. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of an infraction punishable by a fine in the amount of twenty dollars ($20.00). (Ord. 2016-3, 2016)
