1810.01 SPITTING.
   No person shall spit or expectorate in any public place or public building, except in receptacles or places provided for that purpose, nor upon the floor, platforms or any other part of any public conveyance, nor upon any sidewalk or anywhere where it would be dangerous to the community or offensive to sight or smell.

1810.02 SMOKING IN PUBLIC CONVEYANCES.
   (a)   No person shall smoke in any bus or other public conveyance in the City.
   (b)   Every person owning or having the management or control of any such bus or other public conveyance shall keep permanently posted in prominent places in such conveyance a sufficient number of conspicuously lettered signs warning against violating this section and calling attention to the penalty for such violation.

1810.03 SMOKING IN PASSENGER ELEVATORS AND RETAIL STORES.
   (a)   No person shall smoke or carry a lighted cigar, pipe or cigarette, or use any match, spark, flame or fire producing device, in any passenger elevator or in any retail store which is designed or arranged to accommodate 300 or more persons, or in which twenty-five or more persons are employed. However, this prohibition shall not include smoking a cigar, pipe or cigarette, or using a match, spark, flame or fire producing device, in any restaurant room, in any restroom, in any beauty parlor, in any executive office or in any room particularly designated for smoking in any such retail store.
   (b)   "No smoking" signs setting forth fines and penalties for a violation of this section shall forthwith be posted in conspicuous places in all passenger elevators and in all retail stores to which this section is applicable.

1810.04 UNLAWFUL DEPOSITS ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PROPERTY.
   (a)   No person shall throw, place or deposit any food, garbage or other substance upon the public streets or alleys, upon any other public property, in any container of the City or upon any private property in the City, which food, garbage or other substance will attract rats, mice, roaches, pigeons and other birds or may endanger the health of the people of the City or interfere with the use of their property.

   (b)   No person shall cast upon or discharge into or upon any of the streets, alleys or public places in the City any animal carcass, fish, garbage, broken glass, crockery, china, nails or any other kind of material that may wound, bruise or maim man or beast, or any vegetables, fruits, vegetable and fruit peelings, rinds and shells, ashes, dirt, rubbish, snow, pasteboard boxes, paper, advertisements, handbills, showbills, waste paper, sweepings or soapy water, or suffer the same to be or remain deposited in any location in any of such streets, alleys or public places.

   (c)   It shall not be a violation of this section for a person to place food on his or her private property for the sole purpose of capturing feral, stray or abandoned cats in order that these cats will be spayed or neutered.
