No person shall discharge any gun, pistol or other firearm within the city limits. This prohibition shall not apply to emergency protection of persons and property on any individual's own premises. Further, this section shall not apply nor be construed to prevent any United States, state, county or city peace officer from discharging any firearm in the execution of the officer's duties. This section shall further not apply to individuals discharging firearms with the written consent of the city for the purpose of killing deer pursuant to a city approved deer management plan.
