All city cemeteries shall be nonperpetual care cemeteries, and all lots sold after the effective date of ordinance 77-2823 shall be maintained as such. The establishment of the cemeteries as nonperpetual care cemeteries shall in no way alter any rights of purchasers under perpetual care as established by ordinance 2331. (1978 Code §9-10)
A. Animals: No person shall bring or permit any dog or domestic animal to enter into the city cemetery unless such animal is on a leash or confined in either a vehicle or in a cage, kennel, crate, or carrier. Said prohibition does not apply to an animal trained to assist persons with disabilities. (Ord. 17-4700, 3-21-2017)
B. Discharge Of Firearms 1 : No person shall discharge any gun, toy gun, toy weapon, pistol or other firearm within the city cemetery, except firearms utilizing blank ammunition may be discharged within the city cemetery in conjunction with a funeral, committal or memorial service, provided prior approval is obtained from the director or designee. This subsection shall not apply nor be construed to prevent any United States, state, county or city peace officer from discharging any firearms in the execution of official duties. C. Defacement Of Monuments: No person shall mar or deface any monument, stone or statuary within the city cemetery. (1978 Code §9-8; amd. 1994 Code)
D. Injury To Plants: No person shall pick any wild or cultivated flowers or injure any shrub, tree or plant material within the city cemetery. (1978 Code §9-9; amd. 1994 Code)
