(A) The County Health Officer of the County of Riverside is authorized to enforce and observe all of the following relating to public health within the boundaries of the City of Indio:
(1) Orders, quarantine regulations, and rules prescribed by the State Department of Public Health and other rules and regulations issued under the provisions of the California Health and Safety Code; and
(2) Statutes relating to the public health.
(B) As used in this chapter, the RIVERSIDE COUNTY HEALTH OFFICER ("COUNTY HEALTH OFFICER") shall mean the County Health Officer acting as the City of Indio Health Officer, except where the County Health Officer is the correct notation due to the circumstances set forth in the text.

Any person who violates an order of the County Health Officer issued under their authority pursuant to state law, is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable as set forth in Health and Safety Code §§ 120275, 120295 or any other applicable statute(s).
(B) Any person who violates § 106.01, including an order of the County Health Officer issued under their authority pursuant to state law, shall be guilty of violating the Indio Municipal Code and may be issued an administrative citation pursuant to Chapter 12 of Title I of the Indio Municipal Code except that no grace period in which to cure the violation to avoid the fine will be provided. This administrative remedy may be exercised in place of, or in addition to, any administrative, criminal, civil, or equitable remedy allowed by law. The amount of the fine associated with the issued administrative citation shall be set forth in a resolution adopted by the City Council.
