FIRE DEPARTMENT
(A) The Fire Department of the town shall be under the control of the Town Council and shall be composed of a volunteer organization known as the “Independence Fire Department.”
(B) Such Department shall elect its own officers and prescribe its own rules and regulations for the conduct of its members subject to the approval of the Council. The names of the elected officers and members shall be presented by the duly elected Chief to the Council for confirmation at the next regular meeting of the Council after the election of officers by the Fire Department.

(A) For the purpose for which the Department exists, the Chief shall have full control and supervision of all apparatus and equipment used by the Department.
(B) All matters shall be taken up or discussed by the Chief or any other member of the Department should the Chief decline or fail to present any such matters.
