ARTICLE VI
QUALIFICATIONS OF ELECTIVE OFFICERS
   Each elective officer shall be a qualified elector of the Municipality and shall have resided continuously therein not less than one year next preceding the date of this election, and shall continue to reside therein during his term of office. He or she shall hold no other office or employment with the Municipality during his or her term, except as otherwise provided in this Charter or by ordinance of Council.
   No officer of the Municipality, elective or otherwise, shall have any financial interest in any contract with the Municipality, or expenditure of money, or the sale of any real or personal property, by the Municipality, other than his or her fixed compensation and reimbursable expenses.
   Any officer of the Municipality who fails to comply with the requirements or qualifications of this section, shall forfeit his or her office. The Council may remove any elective officer who has forfeited his or her office or has been convicted of a felony while in office, but no such removal shall be made without the concurrence of at least five (5) members of the Council.
   The Council may also provide for the expulsion of a member of Council who is absent from Council meetings for a period of three (3) months or longer without sufficient excuse.
