1531.01 INSTALLATION REQUIRED.

   In addition to all other requirements of the Building Code, it shall be the responsibility of the owner of each existing hotel and motel, as defined in Section 1107.08(g) of these Codified Ordinances, to install approved automatic fire detection and alarm devices, as provided in Section 1531.02, on or before August 12, 1981, unless such hotel or motel already has an automatic fire detection and alarm system which was installed pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 1341 of these Codified Ordinances, unless any other provision of law requires installation before that date, or unless the Fire Chief, upon application of the owner, grants an extension beyond such date for good cause shown.
