(a) In the event of any violation of the provisions of this chapter, the Arborist shall withhold any building permits or stop any work in progress until the violation is corrected. Such violation shall also subject the offender to the penalties provided in subsections (b) and (c) hereof.
(b) Whoever violates Section 1014.08 shall be subject to a fine or not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) per tree.
(c) Whoever violates any of the provisions of this chapter, for which no penalty is otherwise provided, is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree on a first offense and shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisoned not more than sixty days, or both, for each offense. If an offender has previously been convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, he or she is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree and shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or imprisoned not more than six months, or both, for each offense.
