(1) Transfer any of these reduced fare instruments to another person;
(2) Allow another person to use any of these reduced fare instruments for rides on the city transit system;
(3) Alter any of these reduced fare instruments unless so authorized by the department; or
(4) Knowingly obtain, or attempt to obtain, any of these reduced fare instruments based on a false application or certification.
(b) Any person committing one or more violations of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
(c) The department is authorized to penalize any person in violation of this section by:
(1) Suspending the person's reduced fare instrument for a period of one year from the date of conviction; or
(2) If the remaining term of the reduced fare instrument is less than one year from the date of conviction:
(A) Suspending the reduced fare instrument for the remainder of the term; and
(B) Prohibiting until one year from the date of conviction the renewal or replacement, or issuance of a new reduced fare instrument.
